Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona, bringing one of the summer’s biggest transfers to an end.
The Spain international has signed a long-term contract with PSG that will keep him at the French club until 2031. The reported transfer fee is around €50 million, making the move a significant piece of business for both clubs.
Torres arrives in Paris after an impressive period with Spain, particularly during their World Cup triumph. His performances on the international stage helped raise his profile considerably, and PSG clearly saw an opportunity to add another dangerous attacking player to their squad.
The move also gives Torres a fresh challenge at club level. During his time at Barcelona, he experienced both good and difficult moments, but he remained an important attacking option. Last season, he contributed 21 goals and three assists in 49 appearances across competitions.
At PSG, he will be expected to provide goals, movement and versatility in attack. His ability to play across the front line gives the French champions another option when opponents try to shut down their main attackers.
There is also a personal connection involved. PSG manager Luis Enrique previously coached Torres with Spain, meaning the player already understands his manager’s footballing ideas.
