MINNEAPOLIS — It was the type of possession the Golden State Warriors haven’t executed enough the last four weeks and the type of possession head coach Steve Kerr hopes to see more often the rest of the season.
The type of possession that all but clinched their first victory in 13 days.
Stephen Curry bent around a ball screen set by Trayce Jackson-Davis in the clutch, initiating a sequence of passes the Minnesota Timberwolves couldn’t defend.
Curry was blitzed by two defenders, triggering a drop off to Jackson-Davis rolling to a rim, preceding a kickout to the corner for Andrew Wiggins, who swung the basketball to Dennis Schröder in the slot.
As the Timberwolves scrambled, Curry relocated — free himself at the top of the key for a pass from Schröder, his seventh 3-pointer and his 27th, 28th and 29th points.
“That’s what we’re trying to impart on our young players. We have Steph Curry on our team,” Kerr said. “So, pass the ball. Move the ball. And if Steph gets off it early because he’s gained an advantage, now the defense is scrambling.”
