The Stormers clinched a deserved 29-10 bonus-point victory over their South African rivals but the joy of the win was soured somewhat by the injury to their talented playmaker. Frustrating period
Feinberg-Mngomezulu has endured a frustrating period on the sidelines of late as he missed the latter part of the Springboks’ Rugby Championship campaign due to a knee injury.
He eventually returned to action for the Stormers earlier this month against the Sharks in Durban but only lasted 30 minutes before being forced off due to a head knock.
It was a similar story upon his return on Saturday and the Cape Town-based outfit’s head coach John Dobson said he is unsure on the extent of Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s latest injury.
“He’s got a hip pointer, I don’t know where that is or what it is, but it’s funny, in the old days lammies (dead legs) and now haematomas, knocks and contusions, ankle sprains, he’s now got a hip pointer,” Dobson told reporters after the match.
“I don’t know (the extent of the injury). I’ve just said to him now it would be nice for him to get to half-time for us at some stage, but apparently you don’t know with hip pointers for a while.
