Barcelona made a flying start to their Champions League campaign against Feyenoord, producing a dominant attacking performance at the Camp Nou. The Catalan side quickly established control of the match and were already several goals ahead during the second half.
Raphinha was once again one of Barcelona’s biggest threats. The Brazilian winger scored twice, taking his remarkable tally to eight goals in just five games this season. His current form has made him one of the most dangerous attackers in European football.
Lamine Yamal also got on the scoresheet as Barcelona continued to put pressure on Feyenoord’s defence. Gabriel Jesus added another goal after joining Barcelona during the summer, giving supporters another reason to be excited about the club’s attacking options.
Barcelona’s movement in the final third caused constant problems. Feyenoord struggled to contain the home side’s combinations, while Barcelona repeatedly found space around the visitors’ defensive structure.
Feyenoord did manage to put the ball in the net during the match, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Barcelona continued to dominate afterwards, with their attacking quality proving too much for the Dutch side.
The result represents another positive step for Hansi Flick’s team, who have started the season strongly domestically and are now looking equally dangerous in Europe.
With Raphinha producing goals, Yamal continuing to develop and several new attacking options available, Barcelona appear to have plenty of firepower for their Champions League campaign. Feyenoord, meanwhile, face a difficult battle to recover from such a heavy opening defeat.
