Jamie Vardy could be heading back to England, with West Ham reportedly interested in signing the veteran striker.
The 39-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Italian side Cremonese, where he spent the 2025–26 season. Despite his age, Vardy remains an experienced goalscorer, having built a legendary career in English football with Leicester City.
West Ham are looking for attacking reinforcements as they prepare for life in the Championship, following their relegation from the Premier League last season. Vardy’s experience could make him an attractive option for a club hoping to bounce straight back into the top flight.
The potential move would be a fascinating one. Vardy has spent most of his career playing at the highest level, including winning the Premier League title with Leicester in one of football’s greatest underdog stories.
He also won the Premier League Golden Boot and became one of the most feared strikers in English football because of his incredible pace, movement and ability to finish chances.
At 39, however, Vardy would not be expected to carry an entire attack on his own. His experience and goalscoring instincts could instead provide West Ham with an important weapon during their promotion campaign.
A return to England would also give supporters another chance to see one of the Premier League’s most memorable strikers back on home soil.
For now, nothing has been completed, but West Ham’s interest has created the possibility of Vardy beginning another chapter in English football.
