Barcelona have reportedly made a £38.5 million approach for Manchester City midfielder Rodri, but City are believed to value the Spanish international closer to £60 million.
The interest makes sense from Barcelona’s perspectiv

For Manchester City, though, the situation is less straightforward. Rodri remains an extremely valuable player, and replacing someone with his qualities would not be easy. That gives the Premier League champions a strong negotiating position if Barcelona seriously pursue the transfer.
Barcelona’s reported offer is significantly below City’s reported asking price, meaning there is still work to do before a deal could become realistic. The Catalan club would also need to consider its financial situation before committing to such a sizeable transfer.
Still, the fact that Barcelona are reportedly willing to make an approach shows how highly they regard Rodri. The club have been looking for quality and stability in midfield, and few players fit that description better.
