While many may have been dreading the weekend’s Premier League match against Liverpool, it turned out to be a pretty good afternoon for Manchester United as they took a point from the game.
Goals from Lisandro Martinez and Amad saw them get a 2-2 draw against the league leaders at Anfield in what was arguably the best performance under Ruben Amorim so far. It could have been even better for United with Harry Maguire having a brilliant chance to take all three points right at the end, only for his shot to go over the bar.
While concentration was on what was going on on the pitch, the January transfer window remains open. For United, the focus will first be on moving players out of the club.
Marcus Rashford is the most prominent player being linked with an exit. Illness kept him out of the squad vs Liverpool, but it does seem that his future may be away from Old Trafford.
Joshua Zirkzee is another forward player who could potentially move on in the window, just six months after completing a move from Bologna. He has been linked with a return to Italy.
If United are able to generate some cash through sales, then it could mean that incomings are possible. Victor Osimhen and Matheus Cunha are just two of the names linked in recent weeks, although the latter looks to be closing in on a new contract with Wolves.

Double Juventus raid
Italian giants Juventus have already been heavily linked with a potential move for Joshua Zirkzee in the January window, but it now seems that they are interested in a second Man United player.
According to the Daily Star, the Serie A club are ‘weighing up’ a move for defender Tyrell Malacia. The report says that Juve are considering taking the 25-year-old on loan until the end of the season with an option of a permanent deal in the summer.
The left-back has made four appearances this season after returning from an 18-month lay-off with a serious knee injury. He was an unused substitute in Sunday’s draw against Liverpool.
Galatasaray Victor Osimhen stance
Galatasary are not expecting Victor Osimhen to leave the club this transfer window, despite links with Manchester United, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.
The striker is currently on loan with the Turkish side from Napoli. He is having a productive season in front of goals, scoring 15 times and providing five assists.
That has prompted some reports around a potential interest from United. But it seems that any deal is unlikley.
