The NBA season tips off next week, which means it’s time for Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James to break out his latest signature sneaker. Today, Nike officially launched James’s 22nd signature sneaker.
The Nike LeBron 22 was a product of decades of embracing, channeling, and rising above the pressure. The performance model has been crafted to extend his game while inspiring the next generation of hoopers that, just like their icon, thrive under pressure.
James first broke out the Nike LeBron 22 when he led Team USA to a gold medal during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. After months of waiting, the Nike LeBron 22 will drop on November 1.
The Nike LeBron 22 in the “Crown Jewel” colorway will be available to buy by online customers in adult sizes for $180 via the Nike website. Smaller sizes have more toned-down design treatments and a lower price point.
“We engineered the LeBron XXII to match his powerful and agile playing style,” says Ross Klein, Senior Director, Men’s Basketball Footwear Product Design.
“To move with the force and precision LeBron needs, we focused on delivering maximum lockdown control, all while maintaining the speed, lightweight feel and court connection that he’s loved in his recent signature models.”
A new midfoot saddle construction in the performance model acts as a guardrail for a natural, in-control feel that lets the next generation lock in, take off, and push the limits with complete confidence.
It also includes Cushlon 2.0 foam throughout the midsole for increased comfort with every step, and Zoom technology in the heel and forefoot for powerful propulsion and soft landings.
A sign of the times, James’ latest sneaker arrives as a low-top silhouette in order to keep players close to the ground for quick, unbridled movements with control.
The outsole features and traction zones are designed to support key movements, including jab steps, reverse pivots, takeoffs, and step-backs from James.
The Nike LeBron 22 mixes performance with luxury through the use of premium materials, together with elevated performance construction and refined detailing, to fit the rigors of any stage-from hardwood to Hollywood.
Everything from bold, disruptive colorways inspired by his design influence to his signature embedded in the heel gives the shoe a distinct and personal touch to James’ personal style.
