Liverpool’s £50m Bid for Yankuba Minteh Rejected as Reds Push for Another Attacking Reinforcement

Liverpool have had a £50 million bid for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh rejected, as their search for attacking reinforcements continues. The 22-year-old is one of several wide players being considered by Liverpool, with the club looking to strengthen on the wings. 

Minteh is reportedly open to a move to Anfield, but Brighton are reluctant to let him leave. The Gambian winger is also currently recovering from a leg injury that could keep him out for several weeks, making Liverpool’s interest particularly interesting.

Liverpool’s need for another winger has become more obvious following Mohamed Salah’s departure. The club have already added Victor Muñoz, but manager Andoni Iraola has admitted that his squad still needs reinforcements, particularly in wide areas.

The Reds have also been pursuing Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, although his huge valuation has made that deal difficult to complete.

Minteh has impressed since joining Brighton from Newcastle, combining pace and direct running with his ability to play on either flank. Liverpool see him as a potential solution to their lack of options on the right side.

However, Brighton’s rejection means Liverpool now have a decision to make. They could return with an improved offer or focus their attention on other targets before the transfer window closes.

For Minteh, the situation could become one of the biggest stories of the final weeks of the window. Liverpool clearly want him, but Brighton’s stance suggests that it will take considerably more than £50 million to convince them to sell.
