NBA media day is like the first day of school, where you get your picture taken, set expectations, meet your new teammates officially, and get ready to deep dive into training camp for the new season.
As teams around the league went through media day on Monday ahead of the 2024-2025 season, there were many storylines ranging from serious to silly. Joel Embiid and Masai Ujiri gave touching tributes to Dikembe Mutombo. LeBron and Bronny are already at each other’s throats the only way a father and son can be. Chris Paul and Gregg Popovich talked reflecting on two decades of hate for each other. The Bulls looked sad, and Giannis Antetokounmpo remained freaking by talking about his wedding night.
The most jarring part of media day is often seeing old players in new uniforms, and that was especially the case this year with so much player movement over the offseason.
