NEW YORK, Sept. 2, 2024 – Phoenix Mercury guard Natasha Cloud has been suspended one game without pay after receiving her seventh technical foul of the 2024 season, the WNBA announced today.
Under WNBA rules, when a player or coach receives a seventh technical foul during the regular season, she or he is automatically suspended without pay for one game. For every two additional technical fouls received during that regular season, the player or coach will be automatically suspended for an additional game.
Cloud picked up her seventh technical foul with 4:24 remaining in the second quarter of Sunday’s 84-66 win over the Las Vegas Aces. She will serve the suspension on September 3 when the Mercury hosts the Atlanta Dream.
Phoenix also had guard Diana Taurasi pick up her seventh technical foul of the season with 7:39 remaining in the third quarter of that same contest. That foul was rescinded upon league office review and she remains at six for the season.
